This band has profoundly changed my life. Every time I go to another show good things happen, and I have opportunities to help other people. In this Gizz bubble we can pretend all the BS in the world isn’t happening and everyone can feel safe to be exactly who they want to be. We snuff out racism, homophobia, all the cruddy crap that plagues us daily. But not at Gizz. They’re creating a sanctuary where people can go and be themselves and it’s such a rare thing in today’s world. It’s amazing to witness, and to mosh to. I’ve seen them 63 times now and I will never stop. Be who you want to be and catch a show! It’s not just music anymore it’s an entire experience that mimics how life should just be, but isn’t. Come and be yourself and shake ass with the swarm! We LOVE you!
I had been a fan since 2014 and been to several shows over the years but never really interacted with the community because I am content to keep to myself. Earlier this year, I rolled up to Bonnaroo alone & freshly single with an extra wristband to sell and met a few members of the swarm who immediately made me feel like I was a part of something much bigger. We spent one very muddy day bonding over the band despite not getting to see any of their 3 scheduled sets, met up at their Colorado Springs orchestra show and again at Field of Vision, and I just returned home to Denver after spending 3 weeks in Europe attending every single rave show with them. Needless to say, I feel like I’ve found my family for life and can’t wait for all of the future experiences we will share together. Music has always been my favorite thing and I like a lot of different bands but no other band on earth is doing THIS for us. <3
When KGLW was back on the road in Europe in 2023, I wanted to go to a lot of shows. Well, at least 3. Paris, my nearest city, was a logical show to attend, and going back to La Route du Rock after the canceled tour was also logical since the festival is super nice. Then, they were hitting 3 cities over 3 days, La Rochelle, Toulouse and Lille. I knew I could pick up just one city, and that was the closest to me too, Lille. I've spent two great days there, a good show - even if I would have trade the setlist from Toulouse or La Rochelle anytime ! -, but the greatest thing happened on my way back home. I was bored in the train and launched a dating app, starting with a T. I've matched a girl from Mexico who was going to visit France a month later. To keep the story short, two years later, we got married in France, opening the party with Deadstick. I feel like it would have never happened without KGLW. It's an odd life, 'til you get it right.
in 2024, my friend had 3 tickets to a show that they were giving away because their ride bailed and they had no other way to get there. it was a major bummer, since gizz is their all time favorite band and it would’ve been their first time seeing them. on the day of the show, another friend asked me if i had any free tix, so i hooked him up with friend #1 and they were able to work out a ride so they both could make it! when i saw them at the show there was so much gratitude and love. it made the show that much sweeter that we could all experience it together <3
The sense of community, inclusion and care in this fandom is unmatched!
No matter the country, the venue, the time, when king Gizzard bring us together, is just love, and I'm here to keep spreading it. Being able to build a community across the world thanks to the shared love for the band is a true gift.
I love how the community is so inclusive and supportive, not just for each other but for important causes around the world.
I absolutely love this community, from the collaboration and love from all the bootleg artist to the spirit of Gizzmas! The sincere love and silly Billy play brings me to a feeling of home đź’š
I love the fact that most everyone in the weirdoswarm are supportive of human rights and aren't afraid to speak out against what is wrong in this world.
I love always feeling safe and welcome at every Gizz event and making new friends every time, always easy and such a pleasure x
I adore how loving everyone is in the community. I feel like I've found myself a home - everyone is so full of peace and love. It feels like one big family. Thank u, Weirdo Swarm 🫶
I love that even when I attend shows alone, I always meet 50 new friends and fellow “not cult” members. I appreciate that the fun doesn’t stop when the shows are over. The art, memes, fundraisers, and collectively telling bigots to fuck off creates a great community. 💚
the weirdo swarm is so accepting, loving, and inclusive. i can truly by myself around people who love kglw as much as i do:)) - n0xious.s0up
Where else can you be yourself and not feel uncomfortable. The best part of this community is the people within it and so far, I've only met a few of you. Looking forward to the future shows and making memories with those of you in the swarm.
